David Klein

David Klein has served as Canopy Growth’s CEO since 2020 and is responsible for defining and executing the strategy necessary to realize Canopy’s vision of unleashing the power of cannabis to improve lives. 

Prior to Canopy Growth, David served in a range of executive roles during more than 15 years at Constellation Brands including as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Management Committee. 

Committed to the vision and the potential of the cannabis industry since his time at Constellation, David was also integral in Constellation’s investment in Canopy Growth and since the 2017 investment, he has been committed to both growing and developing Canopy and advancing the industry’s fight to undue the harms of prohibition.  

David holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from State University of New York at Geneseo and an MBA from State University of New York at Buffalo. He has also served on Canopy’s Board of Directors since November 2018.
